With brushes, water colors and a bike: study trip through the north coast of Brittany.
From Munich via Paris to St. Malo - Euro City and TGV made this journey happen easily in the north of France - along with my bicycle. Then there: wonderful plays of light in all weather conditions - amazing views of the sea, huge rock formations and big clouds. The green of the algae shone between the dark rocks. In the bicycle bags was space enough also for watercolor, brushes and paper.

Thanks goodness, because these things offered many opportunities: Sketching views at Cote d'Emeraude (Emerald Coast) with steep cliffs, high capes and lonely little beaches, plus a tide of up to 14 meters. Here, the landscape's expression changes constantly in front of the eye.
Then cycling to Côte de Granite Rose: Pink granite blocks piled up, facing the sea. The houses and the cobblestone in the villages are also made of pink granite. And the blue, caribbean-colored sea. Beautiful.

Camaret-sur-Mer was formerly a great harbor for lobster fishing. Now, many artists have their studios and galleries in the streets of the village. Opposite the harbor promenade is a ship cemetery. The dry-down fishing boats remember the time of fishing and shipbuilding. Even rusty bollard, wrapped by ropes of two old ships.
